Tips to Clean a Wooden Comb

We must clean our comb on a regular basis to avoid damage to scalp and hair.

Take few drops of petroleum jelly and rub it on the teeth and handle of the comb. Leave it for some time and then wipe off with a soft cloth.

We can use oil also to clean the comb. Take linseed oil or flaxseed oil and coat the comb liberally with the oil. Let the oil sit for an hour or so and then wipe off with a cloth.

You can use sandpaper to clean the teeth of the comb and get rid of the dirt inside the teeth. Gently scrape the sandpaper between the teeth to remove the dirt.

Avoid using water to clean a wooden comb as water may damage it. Avoid chemical detergents or liquid soaps for cleaning the comb.

Never use blow dryers to dry a wooden comb, it could damage the comb.

Wooden combs suit all types of hair. They are easily available in the market. Make sure you do not pick wooden combs which are varnished, painted or treated with other chemicals because you do not want any harmful chemical substances to come in contact with your hair and scalp.
